Blacksmith Douglas Morlock - Folk Artist-in-Residence 2017
Douglas Morlock has been a full-time blacksmith since 2003. Originally a goldsmith, forging iron and steel became the beating heart of his work with his first day at the anvil.
As a craft that descends unbroken from antiquity, the creative paths of the blacksmith are infinite, encompassing every era and school.
With a focus on fine tools and functional art wrought to the highest standard, Morlock seeks to forge a connection between the tactile depth of pre-industrial craft and our digital present.
